Description

I remember one day being inside a bus, listening music with my mp3 player (Pagan Poetry by Björk to specify). Suddendly all this beautiful ideas came up to my hand. I remember reading that Björk asked for some crystal music boxes for her album "Vespertine", because she wanted a "freeezer" sound and I thought about painting a ballerina, but instead of a porcelain one, a human one. So, this is dedicated to her album "Vespertine" and those lights around the ballerina represent the movement and the "freeze" sound. I also wanted to give those classical fairy tale feeling (that's why I did not add skin tone variations) and the ballerina is supposed to be inside a music box. Yeah, that is a painted wall in the background. I hope you like. Done entirely in Adobe Photoshop.

excellent work! The dress is perfect. The anatomy of her right arm seems a little off, and the foot she's ballancing on is rather large, but its only obvious if your hunting for something to critique u on :p

Wow, it's very good!
I especially like the hands and face, They are very well done and detailed.
The thing I don't like as much is the ground where she's standing. does not seem obvious what it is.
But great painting !

Nice work! A little bit too blurry though. The bg could have used some more work and the colours could interact a little bit more ;)

Proximus1: Thanks! Don't worry about that, I understand.

Dejanira: Thanks for advice, I didn't notice about it.

Crazyboy: It was something quick, I do things desperately sometimes, thanks a lot!

Daykan: Thank you!

Diane: Ooh dear, the background is a sketch on a wall, that's why I didn't detail so much. About the colours, my intention was to do a more fairy tale feel. Thanks anyway!

Picturing a balet dancer must be hard, I can imagine.
I have to paint some sort of ballet dancer for a client and so far have collected some refs but have no ideas yet how to picture it good.

However! It's a lovely pose and you have well rendered her.
She has some little anatomy errors with her arms and legs but it's not that bad that the painting wouldn't be working ;)

Well, it was waaaaaaaaay hard... but I remember the most hard part was the standing foot, I just seemed to fail everytime with the shape when I painted it, it even turned out too big and weird! I appreciatte your observation, good luck with your ballerina! Greetings!

Saludos!
